My Neighbourhood Fat Cat
This cat has been hanging around my neighbourhood for as long as I can remember. she is quite a star, I have seen many people taking photos of her. She seems to be pretty old, most of the time she is sleeping (in all kind of position). She can be pretty feisty/unpredicatable though, I have seen her bit some people who wants to play with her.

How to surf Hardwarezone forum in mobile mode
Annoyingly, Hardwarezone forum, a popular forum among Singaporean, does not have the option to switch to mobile mode. Instead, it auto-detect what type of device you are using and choose the option for you. Most of the time it is fine, as it switches to mobile mode for you. However, if you are using android tablet, like Nexus 7, it will stubbornly stay in full version mode which is not as user-friendly when you are using a tablet.
However, I have stumble upon a solution and would like to share with anyone facing the same annoyance.
3 Step Solution:
1)Install or use Dolphin Browser from play store on your android tablet.
2)Access the settings in Dolphin Browser and change the "User Agent" to "iPhone"
3)Volia!
You should be able to surf the forum in mobile mode now using the browser. If you unable to or accidentally changed to full version mode, try clearing the cache and cookies.

Visiting the National Museum of Singapore
As museums are offering free admission to PR and Singaporeans, I decided to head to National Museum of Singapore for a look. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. It was not as boring as I though it would be. You can spend hours in there exploring and listening to the history behind the items as the museum provide a tablet that offers audio commentary for the items in the History gallery, and it is quite interesting. For example, I learnt there is such a thing called the Singapore Stone. I arrived at the museum too late to completely see all the exhibit properly. If you really want to see and understand the history behind the stuff, you probably need 3-4 hours minimal. Once you are done with the History Gallery, you can explore the living gallery as well.
Here are some random pictures I took in the Living Galleries

Using P/E for Stock Investment
Many investors uses Price/Earnings(P/E) when they are deciding whether to invest in a company, as it is easy to use and data for it is widely available. One can just take the current stock price divided by the latest earnings of the company and they can derive at the company's P/E. Some investor might try to do some forecasting by adding a growth factor in to the earning to derive at a forward P/E, as earning reports are normally reported quarterly and based on past performance. By adding a growth factor you are essentially forecasting the company's future and be forward looking.
Once you derive at the P/E, how do you know it is a "bad" or "good" number? P/E can be compared in 3 different ways:
Once you derive at the P/E, how do you know it is a "bad" or "good" number? P/E can be compared in 3 different ways:
- With the market
- With similar companies in the market
To counter the above mentioned problem, one can compare a company's P/E with companies in the same industry. For example, one can compare raffles medical with IHH, as both are in healthcare. This will give you a clearer picture as the companies compared are more/less operating in the same environment. However, the P/E differences could be due to the growth potential of the company, how leverage the firm is and even due to the management of the company.
- With historical P/E
Another way to use P/E is to look at the company's historical P/E and see if the company is currently over or under valued. However, one must take note that the change in current P/E might be due to the change in business mix or environment that the firm operate in, hence it is not useful or accurate to compare to the historical P/E of the company.
Another point to take note is that the earnings of the company might consist of one-time gain from sales of building or investment, and hence that might distort the actual earnings that are generate by the company's normal business. So you should discount that when you are calculating the P/E. One limitation of P/E is that it can not be used on loss-making firm, and hence a investor might have to use price/sales or other metric when making investment decision. In conclusion, P/E is a simple and easy way for a investor to use when making a investment decision, but one should look at other factors and not just rely solely on P/E.

NotSureLeh: Does iBet lottery ticket offer you more value?
The answer will be a big fat no-no. The expected value of a $1 "Big" ibet ticket is around $0.658, which is slightly lower compared to a normal "big" ticket, same goes for the "small" type of bet. Hence, it actually makes no different if you chose to bet using the ibet or normal type 4D in the long run, as you are statistically going to lose the same amount of money.
Kovan Double Murder: Picture of Sgt Iskandar Bin Rahmat
Article from Singapore Police Force that was taken down:
Possible picture of suspect:
Updated:
Latest picture and story from Channel NewsAsia:
SINGAPORE: The suspect in the Kovan double murders has been extradited to Singapore. He arrived at Cantonment Police Complex around 12.15pm.
The suspect -- police Senior Staff Sargeant Iskandar bin Rahmat -- was arrested in a restaurant in Danga Bay at 11.30pm on Friday night.
Police said he had crossed over to Johor Bahru on a scooter, and was held by the Royal Malaysian Police following his arrest.
Police said the suspect's relationship with the older victim Mr Tan Boon Sin is unclear. However, they noted that Mr Tan had made a report to the Bedok police station, where the suspect was the duty officer, about a case of theft in November 2012.
Police said the suspect was in debt due to personal domestic matters.
In a statement, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean said anyone who breaks the law, in particular officers placed in positions of trust or authority, will have to face the full weight of the law.
He said the case of the double murders in Kovan is especially troubling as the suspect is a police officer.
Mr Teo said the actions that the suspect has been accused of have tarnished the reputation of the police, and his actions -- if proven -- have abused the trust placed in him, and betrayed his colleagues in the police force who serve faithfully and dutifully.
He said the government has zero tolerance for officers who break the law, and he is confident that the investigations will be thorough and that justice will be served.
Mr Teo added that he has asked the Commissioner of Police to tell every officer to continue to perform his duty faithfully and diligently so as to maintain the trust that the public has in the police force and its officers.
He commended the Criminal Investigation Department for working hard to crack the case, leading to the speedy arrest of the suspect. He also thanked the Royal Malaysian Police for their assistance in the arrest of the suspect.
He said it is an excellent example of the close and deeply valued partnership the law enforcement agencies from both countries have built over many decades.
Mr Teo revealed that the authorities had first established the suspect's identity on Thursday morning, after piecing together several pieces of evidence. However, they had not earlier released any details for operational reasons as the police assessed that there was no threat to public safety.
He noted that revealing the suspect's identity would also likely have made his arrest more difficult to achieve.
Mr Teo expressed his condolences to the family of the victims on their loss.
